The role
Mob is looking for a Head of Events to develop, optimise and manage our events business line.

Based in Hoxton, Mob is a food-based social media platform aimed at students and young professionals. The Mob team is made up of dynamic, talented individuals who constantly strive to build the platform whilst maintaining a fun and inclusive working environment. 

The successful candidate will have a wealth of experience managing  and delivering large scale events, including festivals. They will also have experience developing new event concepts and managing a team. We are looking for someone who is adaptable and excited to bounce between all areas of events work - from top-line strategy conversations to managing events on the day. 

You will be working at an exciting start-up company. The ideal candidate will be someone who can work well in a small team and work well across a number of different objectives.
  • Work closely with commercial and creative teams to develop events strategy and calendar.
  • Oversee the long term vision for Mob Events, focussing on executing cutting-edge, large-scale and brand-building events.
  • Manage and develop 5-person events team.
  • Keep track of budgets across events and deliver to targets established by commercial and finance teams.
  • Continue to build out black book of freelancers, suppliers and contributors.
  • Responsible for compliance and health and safety across all Mob events.
  • Report progress across all areas of events.
  • Monitor and contribute towards marketing and PR-related activity for Mob events to drive event sales and hit revenue targets.
  • Be an ambassador for Mob across all aspects of work.
  • Assess and react to attendee experience data. Ensure that Mob events are constantly learning and improving.
  • Report to Commercial Director. 
What you'll need
  • Previous experience in a Head of Events role, preferably 2 years(+)
  • Strong experience of organising and delivering brand-focussed large scale events.
  • Strong and personable communicator who is comfortable dealing with high-level suppliers and clients.
  • Strong attention to detail across all aspects of events.
  • A desire to put on innovative and exciting events that impress in all areas.
  • Experience working with budgets of £200k+.
  • Have an expansive and current supplier and freelance network and be well connected and regarded within the industry.
  • Proven track record in proactively bringing innovative ideas to life in the events space.
  • Strong commitment to keeping up with the ever-changing events landscape.
  • Confidence in building out well presented documents and spreadsheets.
  • A background working in brand-driven working environments preferable.
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty and lead by example.

Who are we? Well, the long and short of it is that Mob is a food media platform. Ever since our founder, Ben, found himself frustrated at how his uni flatmates couldn’t even cook a simple plate of pasta, the Mob mission has been to help students and young professionals prepare restaurant-quality meals on a budget and help them learn more about food and drink culture as they do.

We’re not about garnishes of micro herbs or “artistic” smears of sauces. We’re all about accessibility and making things as simple and fun as possible when it comes to cooking.
